Why The Bay Area Takeover?
After witnessing years of depleted spirit at industry conference music festivals, the Bay Area Takeover has decided: it's time to bring that independent spirit back! The Bay Area Takeover is an entity committed to reinvigorating the music festival as a place to discover great new music from some of the San Francisco Bay Area's best record labels.

The first Takeover will be an independent showcase held during the 2008 South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas on Thursday March 13th at the Beauty Bar. The event will feature fifteen Bay Area bands, known in the indie world as some of the hottest up-and-coming and under the radar groups.
